Cute Shorts but Beware of Washing Instructions

I love the fit and look of these shorts. They are very light weight and flattering. However please beware of the washing instructions. I washed these on a delicate cycle and hung dry them and they shrunk into booty shorts. So I only got to wear them 3 times before I had to donate them because they no longer fit. The washing instructions say “do not wash, do not dry clean” so these are unwashable shorts? Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me.

Fit is TTS, ordered my usual M. The fit is nice, quality of the linen is great - has some weight to it but also airy for the summer. I got the matching shirt and plan to mix and match the pieces.
